The programme was Mussorgsky’s A Night On A Bare Mountain (Rimsky-Korsakov version) and Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No 1 in D (soloist Gyorgy Pauk) followed by Stravinsky’s Persephone in which the BBC Symphony Orchestra was joined by Claude Mathieu (narrator) and Philip Langridge (tenor), the BBC Singers and the Tiffin School Boys’ Choir. Patricia Hooper (Paddy), a friend, sang with the BBC Singers. Conductor David Atherton.
