Dr John, piano/vocal, plays music derived from many sources in his native New Orleans: r’n’b, boogie, blues, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll. He overlays it with a voodoo sensibility and his shows use this as a marker. His singing, for me, is hard to follow. The Electric Bluebirds, a cajun band, also accompanied him. They may have been: Bobby Valentino fiddle/vocal, Alan Dunn accordion/vocal, Paul Astles guitar/lead vocal, Pete Butler bs guitar/vocal, Bryn Burrows drums.
