Paco Pena Flamenco Dance Company, Royal Festival Hall, London (GB) - 8 sept. 2007

The first part consisted of just Paco Peña guitar and Angel Muñoz dancer. Then came a major work written by Paco – Requiem for the Earth. Guitarists were Peña, Paco Arriaga, Rafael Montilla; singers El Chaparro, Miguel Ortega, Mañuel Gago, Rosa Maria La Negra; percussion by Rubem Dantas and Nacho López. Muñoz the dancer. They were joined by Voicelab Children’s Choir and Voicelab Swell, Southbank initiatives, and Salisbury Festival Chorus, conductor Howard Moody. The guitar playing and singing were as good as ever, the huge number of singers in the choirs an unusual backdrop to flamenco. The piece was written in the form of a requiem mass and was environmentally committed. Nati (wife) was the language coach for the two choirs.
