National Jazz Archive Fundraiser : Simon Spillett Quartet, Loughton Methodist Church, London (GB) - 11 févr. 2017

Straightahead modern jazz, the kind which has been played for decades now. But it was a good gig with great performances from each musician (all bandleaders in their own right). Simon Spillett tenor sax, John Critchinson (who was to die later this year) piano, Alec Dankworth double bass, Clark Tracey drums. Numbers included Royal Ascot (by Tubby Hayes), Lament (by Jay Jay Johnson) and Vierd Blues (by Miles Davis).
