EFG London Jazz Festival Summer Stage/Join the Docks Festival : Cykada, Royal Albert Dock, London (GB) - Aug 31, 2019

The band are Axel Kaner-Lidstrom trumpet, James Mollison tenor sax, Javi Pérez guitar, Tilé Gichigi-Lipere keyboard/electronics, Jamie Benzies bs guitar and Tim Doyle drums. This is a hard jazzrock outfit, well-drilled, good at whipping up excitement. As with a lot of bands like this, trying to do jazz with basically a rock or funk rhythm, everything is over-arranged or over-composed and inventiveness is lacking, notwithstanding the instrumental proficiency. And there were the inevitable drum solos.So you eventually get bored.
