Directed by Patricia Hooper, the singers were Valerie Murray, Janet O’Neill and Gaynor Lintott, sopranos, and Clare Pemberton and Païvi Payne, altos. Paul Brown and Ron High were on guitars and Sophie Aldred was the narrator in Mrs Beeton’s Book, A Music Hall Guide to Victorian Living by Michael Hurd. The latter was the final item in the concert, following Hungarian and British folksongs, guitar music (Spanish songs), negro spirituals, some arrangements of popular songs and more guitar music. As competent as usual.
