These were the musicians: Cat Anderson, Herbie Jones, Cootie Williams, Mercer Ellington, trumpets, Ray Nance trumpet/violin, Lawrence Brown, Buster Cooper, Chuck Connors, trombones, Johnny Hodges alto/soprano sax, Russell Procope alto sax/clarinet, Jimmy Hamilton tenor sax/clarinet, Paul Gonsalves tenor sax, Harry Carney baritone sax/bass clarinet, Duke Ellington piano, John Lamb double bass, Sam Woodyard drums. I think this was the concert with a couple of male singers, both poor. It may also have been the one in which Billy Strayhorn came on for some piano, he being an important composer/arranger for the band.
