This is a play, entitled Chasing the Moment, written by Jack Shepherd, with four actor-musicians: Shepherd piano, Darrell D’Silva sax, Rhashan Stone drums, Jim Bywater bass, and two other actors. The play is about the jazz life and tensions within a band that plays in a small jazz cellar in Peckham in London and the broader context of race, class and generational differences. Well-acted, great music.
