Thelonious Monk Quartet, Royal Festival Hall, London (GB) - Mar 13, 1965

Ronnie Scott tenor sax, probably with Stan Tracey piano, Malcolm Cecil double bass and Jackie Dougan drums, opened with a straightahead modern jazz set. Then the eccentric Monk with his astringent harmonies, lolloping runs and interesting tunes. His musicians were Charlie Rouse tenor sax, Larry Gales double bass and Ben Riley drums. Enjoyable concert.
