Ravi Shankar, the famous sitar player and composer, was accompanied by Alla Rakha tabla (percussion) and Prodyot Sen tamboura (drone). An interesting concert in which Shankar spoke to the audience about the music, especially the rhythmic characteristics of ragas. He influenced George Harrison of course.
