Don Cherry pocket trumpet/percussion, Carlos Ward alto sax/flute, Mark Helias bass, Naná Vasconcelos percussion/drums – the drummer Ed Blackwell was not present. Quite low-key but excellent playing by long-established contemporary jazz musicians. Often folk-type melodies as a basis for improvisation. An effective collective.
